About the event

This class will be led by Oran Kirby, a retired landscape architect and current Cultural Resource Specialist who oversees project proposals requiring cultural, historical, or environmental compliance. In this class, you will learn how Japanese garden design is rooted in Japanese history and Buddhist aesthetic sensibilities. Oran will guide participants through the foundational principles of Japanese gardens, including interactive layouts and drawing exercises to help you develop your own garden concepts.
