About the event

We are pleased to host Chenxing Han, author of Be the Refuge: Raising the Voices of Asian American Buddhists, to discuss her most recent book, one long listening: a memoir of grief, friendship, and spiritual care. Chenxing is delighted to be with us in person after delivering TBT's 2022 June Seminar online.

You can learn more about Chenxing via her personal website: https://www.chenxinghan.com/

Join us as Chenxing shares about her education in Buddhist chaplaincy, which began on the streets of Phnom Penh and took her to the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley, an oncology unit in Oakland, and rural homes in Taiwan. Chenxing will discuss how her training as a hospital chaplain led her to a deeper appreciation of grief, creativity, and spiritual care as liberatory practices available to all of us.
