BCA UPDATE
Hongwanji International Center website updates (www.hongwanji.or.jp)

The Hongwanji International Center has announced that it will be making a few changes to its English website’s top page.  In doing so, they will be adding a section called "Coffee Break," which will include things such as recipes, gathas from the various overseas districts (BCA, Hawaii, Canada, South America, etc.), and Hongwanji items.  The “Seasons of Kyoto” will also be moved to this section as well.

The International Department staff has asked for the assistance of BCA members by submitting content material for this new “Coffee Break” section.  Material may include recipes (pictures included) from BCA temple cookbooks, introductions and the history/background of new gatha songs/music, song files (midi file), pictures of choirs singing, and any other items you may find interesting or would like to have introduced in this section.

Hongwanji asks temples to register now for 750th Memorial Service for Shinran Shonin
The official service date for all Overseas Districts to attend the 750th Memorial Service for Shinran Shonin at the Hongwanji in Kyoto, Japan, is set for May 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. The World Buddhist Women's Convention activities will follow on May 16-17, 2011. The BCA requests that temples submit an official registration form no later than December 1, 2009, if members plan to attend the service.
