We welcome you to join us.

NEW “BUDDHISM TODAY” READING GROUP

The Tacoma Buddhist Temple’s own Rev. Kojo Kakihara and Dr. Erik Hammerstrom will host a monthly reading group on the topic “Buddhism Today” starting in September. This group will focus on discussing writings about Buddhism in the modern world, as well as Buddhist views on contemporary issues. This group is non-sectarian, and welcomes anyone who has read the books to attend.

The group will meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Kings Books, 218 St. Helens Ave., Tacoma, WA 98402. Kings Books will have copies of each book available for purchase in the weeks prior to the meeting. You can also order copies of the books through the BCA Bookstore.

Schedule:

October 12: Reza Shah Kazemi. Common Ground Between Islam and Buddhism. ISBN: 978-1891785627 (This book was recommended in the April issue of the BCA’s Dharma Wheel newsletter.)
